Vata is the queen of the doshas. She affects all aspects of your body and mind. She must be treated so for she holds the key to many health concerns. 

According to Ayurvedic texts, vata is responsible for all neurological health problems. The focus of this set is Prana vata and Udana vata. 

Prana governs the senses. When fatigued or depleted, prana vata can lead to excessive worry, an mind that does not stop, sleep disturbances and breathing issues. 

Udana governs memory, perception and the throat center. Imbalanced Udana can lead to respiratory problems, fatigue and throat and ear issues.

Nasya Oil 1 oz

Karna Oil .5 oz

Kavala Oil 2 oz

Brahmi Oil 2 oz

All the oils oleate the tissues and skin, which in itself is Vata pacifying. For best results, first massage the face with oil. Get the Hydrating Face Oil for this. After massaging the face, apply gentle steam to the face for a few minutes. This prepares the senses to receive the deeper benefits of all the products in this set. 

Warmth supports vata pacifying. So it is best to heat each of these oils in a bowl of hot water for optimal benefits. 

Nasya - 

The practice of applying nasal oil for lubrication is ancient. It has numerous benefits including relieving sinus pressure and dryness. Applying medicated oil to the inside of the nostrils also enhances sensory organ function. Ayurveda also says that nasya oil application supports the lymphatic drainage of the sagittal sinus in the brain thereby creating mental clarity. 

Apply two drops on the pinky fingers and massage the inside of the nostrils for about 30 seconds and sniff deeply. Alternately, you can also use the dropper to place 3-5 drops of oil in your nostrils and sniff deeply. 

This product is made with organic sesame oil infused with mind-supporting herbs including organic Licorice, Brahmi, Tulsi, Vetiver, Turmeric, Sandalwood and Eucalyptus oil. 

Karna - 

Karna purana is the practice of applying warm oil to the ears. This ritual is beneficial for both Prana and Udana Vata. Karna purana supports hearing and has the ability to act as a buffer and nourish our connection the space around us and allows us to go inward. Tilt your head to one side and place ½ a dropper full of this oil in one ear. Wait for 3-4 minutes to absorb. Now place a small cotton ball in the ear. Repeat on the other side. 

The Karna oil is made with Organic Sesame Oil, Sunflower Oil, Calamus and Dashamula. 

Kavala - 

Kavala is known as Oil Pulling in the West. This Ayurvedic practice is known to prevent or decrease the chances of gum disease. It is also known to awaken the senses, including the taste buds and hearing. This morning ritual is beneficial for loosening tight jaws and freshening the breath by removing toxins from the mouth and gums. 

 First, brush your teeth, scrape your tongue (see the Copper Tongue Scraper under products) and follow it up with Kavala. Place two tablespoons of this oil in your mouth and gently swish it in your mouth for at least 20 minutes. Spit the oil into the trash can. Rinse your mouth with warm water. 

 Both sesame and coconut oils are antibacterial in nature. Neem is one of the most powerful antibacterial and antifungal trees. Lastly, clove oil is also known to be friendly to oral care. Do this practice only in the morning BEFORE eating as it affects metabolism and digestion.
